The Rummer Tavern in Queen street Cheapside is listed many times as a meeting place for the Masonic Lodges in 1732, 1739, and 1740 when it is number 7 in seniority and is noted as being constituted in  28th January 1721.

On the 12th June 1774 is recorded the death of Mr Benjamin Braund, formerly master of the Rummer Tavern, in Queen street, near Cheapside. - Political State of Great Britain Vol 48.

The Rummer, in Queen-street, was kept by Brawn, a celebrated cook, of whom Dr. King, in his Art of Cookery, speaks :
