Chalk Farm Tavern, 89 Regents Park Road, NW1 - in March 2011
Kindly provided by Tris
Dating from the 17th century, this pub had become the Chalk Farm Tavern by 1790 and was situated at the confluence of Sharpleshall Street, Berkeley Road and Chalcot Square. It was rebuilt in 1854 about a hundred yards to the north-west at 89 Regents Park Road. Closed for several decades, it has been a Greek restaurant called Lemonia since around the early 1990s. From 15th December 1970 until 1979 this was a Lotus and Bass/Charrington collaboration known as Pub Lotus with steering wheels for tables, racing memorabilia, bucket seats in the Europa Lounge, the Lotus 7 Snack Bar and their F1 cars in the beer garden, called the Grandstand Patio. Company founder Colin Chapman poured the first pint. ***
