Crown and Sceptre, Great Arthur street, St Luke EC1

St Luke pub history index

A court case of 1794 on Old Bailey Online suggests that the pub is on Ball Yard adjoining Catherine Wheel Alley, but I don't have any maps which show a street of this name. Horwood's 1799 map shows Ball Yard as the eastern end of Great Arthur Street (a street which no longer exists, but which joined Golden Lane, to the north of Fann Street). The address is also often listed as simply Arthur Street. *

At 1 Little Arthur street by 1827.
