Morning Advertiser 23 February 1857 :
Bunch of Grapes, Dowgate hill, application for transfer of the license from Alfred Verral to Charles Price was denied as the property had not been licensed for the renewal in March 1856, as there being no house upon the land, the house having been pulled f=down in November 1855, in the course of city improvements. There was not a brick upon the land until July or August 1858.
It was stated there must be a new application, and was refused.
