Sarah Grove, accused by Ann Sladden, wife of Thomas Sladden, general dealer, of Spitalfields, of the theft of a pewter pint pot belonging to John Axe, licensed victualler, of the Salmon and Bull (sic) Public House, Wheeler Street, Spitalfields. *

This John Axe mentioned (born 1812, he married Mary Cox in 1833, d. after 1860), was the son of Thomas Axe, victualler/publican (1765-1833),  who owned the Red Lion, Hoxton Town from about 1806 through to 1833, and the nephew of John Axe, publican / victualler at the Crosby head, Pitfield street/Old street and the White Horse, Pitfield street. *
