In reference to the "Gun & Tent" at
Artillery Ground, my gggggrandmother had this Inn and it is mentioned in her
Will of 1828 - she left this to her eldest son Henry Carey Drury. In her
Will the address is: "Gun and Tent of the Old Artillery Ground in the
Liberty of the Old Artillery Ground in the County of Middlesex".
I am assuming that this is the same one that is listed as now as being at 10
Fort Street, Spitalfields?
I think she [Charlotte] had had this pub for some time, probably from her
first marriage to Thomas Drury in 1792 - when he is listed as a Victualler;
her second husband likewise, my gggggrandfather Abraham Luya; and husband
number three also, i.e. Thomas Wood. My Charlotte outlived them all. *
