Southwark St Saviour pub history index
The address is 2 Grove in 1861 and earlier, prior to the construction of Southwark Street. Southwark Street was built in 1864, over the site of several old roads, including the Grove, which continued along the line of modern Lavington Street and Ewer Street. The pub on the Grove is named as the "Winchester Arms" in the 1861 census return, so presumably it was rebuilt on or near its former site when Southwark St was constructed. *
