My great grand parents Charles Abbott born 1837 and his wife Sarah Butterfield with their 4 children were at Peacock Tavern 53 Holland Street, Southwark, St Saviour London in 1871 census. It appears he was at the Dundee Arms, Charles Street just prior to this. **

My great grandfather was Henry Lawrence Leonard who had this pub in 1886. What I don't know is when he took this pub over. Unfortunately, he actually died there when a lamp outside the pub fell on his head. His death certificate says apoplexy coma. This occurred on 2nd April 1886. I believe his wife, Hannah at sometime married a John Dunn and I think they carried on the pub.  *+
