The Tower Bridge Hotel (now The Pommelers Rest), is at the corner of Tooley Street & Tower Bridge approach. It is believed this was built at the same time as Tower Bridge (late 19th Century). This pub and the bank on opposite corner form a 'gateway' to the bridge.  ***
