In September, 1895 Edwin Still was living at 41, Lambeth Road, and was
working as a 'cellarman'; I do not know which pub as yet, but his first wife
lived at New Road, Lambeth when they married. I wonder whether there was a
pub thereabouts. He died nearby on 24/10/1928 at 76, Harleyford Road,
Vauxhall. I can find no record of him on the 1911 census. ***

I knew my Grandfathers sister Daisy Size ran a pub, with her husband Ernest
Hollidge called the Kings Head around the Elephant & Castle area in the
1930's. He died there in 1937. I also know that it was bombed in 1941
(family tell me this). I have been researching this for some time and after
looking at the place of death (also 1937) of my gt grandfather Harry John
Young Size (Daisy's father) I discovered it was 96 New Causeway which indeed
was The Kings Head. *
After the bombing of The Kings Head; Daisy Hollidge (nee Size) went to work
with her brother William Thomas Herbert Size at the
Cock Hotel, Sutton
Surrey, William was the Manager there from 1937-1950 ish. *
In 1925 to
1927, E W Hollidge is to be found at the
Elephant, 119 Fenchurch
Street; In
1927, he is also to be found at the
Builders Arms, 12
Hammersmith Bridge Roadand and at the Kings Head, Newington Causeway by 1928
according to the BT Telephone Directories
