If you are ever in London, come visit the Purple Poets and our M.E.A. Rope stained glass windows in The Crypt (one has a little boy playing cricket in front of the Suffolk Arms pub (gone, now - roughly it stood in the grounds of the Hackney City farm). We're trying to get a street sign re-instated, if we do that, we'll aim for a pub sign as well! (contains a link to other copyrighted photographs, including the saint Leonard cricket panel) *+
Named as the Three Cups on the 1871 census return (and numbered as 82 Boston Street). *

Mr Eady was my great great grandfather. He died in 1866 at the age of 39.
There is an old family story that he became an alcoholic and lost his
employment as result, dying at a young age from alcohol-related disease. He
left a large and young family in poverty. No doubt that was an industrial
hazard in that era.
