Mariners Arms, 152 Shadwell High Street / 395 The Highway, Shadwell E1

This pub was present by 1839. At Ocean Row in 1841 (maybe a private address?); and only named in the 1901 census and is now demolished. The address alters to the Highway by 1938, and is almost certainly the beer retailer at 395 The Highway. ** Demolished in 1967. *

My Dad owned the pub from 1960-1966. His name was Tom Corbett and he kept the pub until it was compulsorily purchased for the widening of The Highway from two to four lanes. It was demolished in 1967. *
