son of Frederick Thompson, a deceased publican, marries Cecilia Annie
Chandler Cade, also aged 20, daughter of William Cade, a tailor. Some time
after, by 1874, they take on the license of the
Old Pack Horse,
Chiswick. They begin married life as the managers of the Mitre Inn,
Richmond, Surrey.
