I have found my GG Grandmother Maria Martin, on the 1871 census as a Beer
house keeper in the Rose & Crown 48 Spicer Street Mile End. Her husband
Charles Martin died at the premises on 28 Feb 1870, so I assume he was the
landlord prior to his wife taking over. ***
