On my great great grandfather's birth certificate, it states that he (Frederick Newton) was born on 29th April 1859 at The Rising Sun, Vernon Street, Fulham. His father was John Newton, licensed victualler, born in Braceby, Lincs (abt 1817) and his mother was Ann Newton (nee Tuffnell). ***

Two years later (1861) John and Ann were running the Prince Albert in Sherborne Street, Marylebone. ***

George Garrett was my great-grandfather who was previously at the Spa Tavern, Bermondsey in 1871. His daughter Ellen Constance was my grandmother. George Frederick died quite young and the younger members of the family were brought up by Jane Goddard their aunt.  *
