Narrow Street was originally part of Fore Street, at 78 Fore Street in 1869 & earlier; This pub survived until around 1960 and is now demolished. It served as the brewery tap for the Taylor Walker Brewery. **
A later Barley Mow was opened in 1989 at the address of 44 Narrow street, the same building appears to be a Gordon Ramsey restaurant now, named The Narrow. *

1991/BARLEY MOW: 44 Narrow Street E14 - Limehouse Basin. Ind Coope Taylor Walker. Opened in 1989. Converted from a gate keepers house, the pub is situated on the entrance of gates to Limehouse Basin. The Basin itself was constructed by the Regent Canal Company in 1812, hence as a barge basin and in 1819 the company took powers to enlarge the dock to admit sea-going ships. It is not part of PLA but owned by the Britsh Waterways Bd who ceased to operate it in 1969.
