The 1901 census shows my father’s parents visiting here, with their two daughters, and my father’s birth certificate shows he was born here, later in 1901. The name was then given as The Sailor Prince. Are they one and the same pub? Interestingly my grandmother made a habit of being in pubs at census time. She appeared aged 9 in the 1881 census at the Rose and Crown, in Camberwell, run by her brother-in-law, James Manklehut!
