Thomas Gilroy owned the Southampton Arms, at 21 Nine Elms with his sister Vera Gilroy in 1944.
I don’t know exactly when they took on or left The Southampton Arms (his ownership crossed over with taking on the
Prince of Orange in Plumstead from 1944-52 with his wife);
but Thomas and his sister Vera were both definitely joint owners in 1942 as my great aunt had her child there in 1942. **
My grandparents Thomas & Sheila Gilroy later took over the Kings Head at Merton in 1952 until 1964.**
21 Nine Elms lane :
In 1939, Thomas Gilroy is the Proprietor of a Public House at 21 Nine Elms lane, and he is born 12th August 1915;
Also Agnes (Claire) Gilroy, a barmaid, and born 4th March 1918
And also Eliza Jane Brown (Lindsay), a Housemaid & Barmaid, born 1st February 1910. **
