The Prince of Wales was hit by a bomb in an air-raid 13 October 1940 when over thirty people were killed here ** The front half was closed and destroyed on 13th October 1940. The Saloon was reopened as a lock up on 10th April 1941. Then closed because of enemy action on 29th June 1944.
