Lambeth pub history index
Looking at the 1832 street directory for Westminster road, the Horse & Groom is listed at Mount Row, which is next to Cheltenham place, and both on the north side. From this information, I am suggesting that the 1805 Holdens directory record refers to this same Horse and Groom, at Cheltenham place, Lambeth.
The address is given as 24 Mount Row in Sun Fire Office insurance records. * The current address in 1869 places it near to the intersection with Oakley street; as does the 1851 directory when the earlier address is at 24 Mount street until at least 1862. The name is now abbreviated to Horse (2007). ** Now known as The Horse & Stables (2014). ***
