Built in 1845; At 2 Bute Street by 1891; According to the pub sign, the 1880 landlord Sid Chaplin was the older half brother of Charlie Chaplin the film star.  **
Wikipedia reveals that Charlie Chaplin's older half brother, Sydney John Chaplin was born 16.3.1885, so was unlikely to have been landlord in 1880.
