My Great great grandparents were licensed victuallers starting in the mid 1860s in St Albans, through Berkhamsted and then to London.
The first record is a birth certificate for my Great Grandfather John Ralph Elliot; and James and Annie Elliot have their address as Market Place, St
Albans. This would be the Wellington, 26 Market Place, St Albans 1866.
*
In the 1871 Census., James and Annie are at the Railway Tavern, 128 Castle Street, Berkhamstead. James died in 1878. By 1881, Annie, a widow, is at the Granby Arms, 25 & 26 Granby Street, St Pancras. By 1891, she is here at the Crown, 57 Princes Road, Kensington until her death in 1912. *
