The Sun, Priory terrace in the 1871 census. At Victoria road in 1874, then Starch Green Road in 1878 & 1881 census, and at 116 Askew Road in 1896, 1901 census and 1904. Demolished circa 2013 and replaced with a mixed use block. * The pub was destroyed in an air raid shortly before closing time on 25th September 1940,
16 people died including landlord Claude Sparks (aged 55) and Gladys Sparks (aged 37). The site stood empty for almost 20 years until the pub was rebuilt and reopened on 15th March 1960. ***
