I have kindly been sent a copy of the 1921 Census as it includes my Grandmother, Maria Florence Hempenstall. The Census shows her as a barmaid at 237 Lewisham High Road, run by Leonard Cecil Jennings.
She married my Grandfather Ernest Fisher on 1st October 1921. He was son of George Fisher who ran the Southbridge Arms in Croydon.*
