By the 1851 census, Rowland Speed is a retired Licensed Victualler, and
shows place of birth as Rutland.
Charles Maynard, licensee of the Green Dragon at 21 Queens Road Chelsea, was
my gggrandfather. He married Elizabeth Speed, daughter of Rowland and Maria
Speed, in 1844. I have found the death of a Rowland Speed in Chelsea in 1854
in the GRO index. *
