John James Plato was the Beer Retailer at the Star of East, 38 Tetley Street, Bromley, Poplar, in the 1916 directory. He moved to The Albion in Lewisham ; (at 129 High Street). The Plato family had a number of public houses and his son Herbert Percy took over the running of The Albion. John James Plato died at this location in 1929. **
Electoral Registers show John James Plato at this address from 1921, as well as Herbert Percy, who is also listed at least until 1939. **

Charles Henry Plato, another son mentioned in the probate, was at the Pipemakers Arms, 58 St John's Road, Hillingdon, Uxbridge at least between 1931-34. The Wheatsheaf, 13 Mauve Street, Poplar at least between 1922-25 and a Beer House, 321 St. Leonard's Road, Poplar at least between 1926-30. **
