Listed as 48 St Leonards Road in 1901 census, which appears to be an error. This pub was demolished in 1961 or 1962 for the construction of northern approach to the Blackwall Tunnel. **

The publicans daughter, Ada Dickinson features in a family tree I am
interested in. I have provided an extract from the 1891 census below. The
publican, Agnes Dickinson, was the daughter of William Bodkin (not Bollkin
as in the census). She married Henry Dickinson early in 1882, but he had
obviously died before the 1891 census.
You say that in the 1891 Post Office Directory, the Hearts of Oak was listed
as belonging to the executors of William Bodkin, so I guess the Bodkins must
have had the money. I dont know how long Agnes Dickinson ran the pub for,
but by the time of the 1901 census, she was retired and living on my own
means.
