My great-grandparents (Albert and Jane Simpson) and grandparents (Adam and
Vera Simpson) ran this pub from the early 1900's until it was closed in the
1940's. I have now managed to obtain a photograph of it in 1953, just
before it was demolished to make room for the expansion of the gas works *
