From information on birth certificates I believe that John Edward Judge was the licensed victualler at this establishment in 1843. At his first marriage in October, 1840 he was described as a publican residing at 20 Hyde Street, Bloomsbury and married Jane Tew (a widower, maiden name Studley).  At his second marriage in November, 1842 he was a Gentleman residing at 2 Helmet Court, Bishopsgate Street and married Elizabeth Studley (spinster). *

By 1844, John Edward Judge is at the Fox & Anchor, Charterhouse Street. *
