Mary Jane White (born as Jessop), and her father, Joseph Jessop, was a
publican (e.g. the Royal Oak,
Limehouse in 1871 and the
Goat in Boots, 333 Fulham road in 1881 etc.). She and George White were
married on 17th June 1883 in Islington. In the 1891 census they are
licensees of the Crown,
Commercial road, Ratcliff. In the 1901 census, they were licensees of the
Colby Arms, Gipsy Hill,
Norwood.
One of the daughters
(Edith Maud White) would also marry the son of a publican. Maybe it was a
thing. *+
