Bethnal Green pub history index
Existed from at least 1823. This is the early numbering system which exists until about 1882; and is listed in Robsons directories until about 1838. There is later a beer house 105 Brick lane from about 1842, until about 1869; this is roughly at the junction with St John street. This is named as the Ship in the Sun Fire Office insurance records, where it is given as "corner of St John Street" (modern Grimby Street), but it is the Old Ship in an 1843 Directory *.
