Royal Cricketers, 211 Old Ford road, Bethnal Green E2

Bethnal Green pub history index

Existed from at least 1854. Until at least 1855, this pub was called the Horsford Arms and I have seen a reference from 1889 to the "Hosford Arms, known as the Royal Cricketers". ** The 1863 license transfer refers to it as the Horsford Arms and Royal Cricketers, Old Ford road. The 1866 directory for Old Ford, lists this as the Royal Cricketers, 17 Old Ford road. The 1874 license transfer also refers to the Horsford Arms.
