Former Grants Prerogative Court of Canterbury February 1815 and January 1851. Effects under £1000. ***

It does say on the side panel why it took so long to execute the will. A very complicated story and a LOT of money involved for that time as well. The panel which I have copied for you, to the right of the will, explains what happened - and I have copied it below for you to read. Also in the main body of the will one name popped out - (it is extremely hard to read the full text) - but it shows that one of the witnesses to the will had the last name of Gable (Thomas Gable). The Gable family appears to have run the pub for a number of years. I don't know who actually owned it by then. Or what happened to the goods and chattels of Michael Dormer - but it was a long wait re the dispensing of the will to the recipients named in it. I may have misinterpreted it, but will continue to try and sort it out. I am presently trying to read and understand the writing of the actual 1815 will. ***
