Historical London public houses, Taverns, Inns, Beer Houses and Hotels.

Existed from at least 1813. The address is also given as Hope Town in the Sun Fire Office insurance records. * At 33 Union Street, Church Street in 1839 & 1856; the 'Panther' was on the corner of Turin Street and New Tyssen Street, the photo is looking towards Bethnal Green Road, the trees in the distance are surrounding 'St Matthews Church' the area between the pub and the Bethnal Green Road was wiped out in the blitz in 1941 killing amongst others my Grandfather and his two sons, the pub survived and yep! they pulled it down 2-3 years ago - demolished in 2005. *** The Panther, Hope Town in the 1876 license transfer.
