Globe, 109 Columbia Road, Bethnal Green E2 - circa 1910
The picture with Joseph How (My Grandfather) might be of the globe before bomb damage & reconstruction. My Cousin now deceased told me that prior to the war, the globe was set further back. I don’t know how that was possible. This might alternatively be of the Shakespeare’s Head, 28 Barnsley Street which would fit with the year.

My grandmother, Bertha How ran the Globe from at least 1915 to
1944, at Wembley by 1945. Previously Bertha and Joseph were at the
Shakespeare’s Head, 28 Barnsley Street between about 1901 and 1910 and at Oaks Cottage, Maybank
road, South Woodford in the 1911 census, where Joseph is listed as a beer retailer.
He died in 1914. ***
