Cambridge Arms, 87 St Peter Street, Bethnal Green E2

Bethnal Green pub history index

Existed from at least 1869. Confusingly, No. 23 Peter Street was the address of the Oxford Arms prior to street re-numbering. They are definitely two different pubs, and both are referenced in the account of an 1883 Old Bailey case. The address in the 1871 census is Cambridge Arms, 28 St Peters Place South. ** The address is 28 St Peter Street in the 1871 census (where the pub is named), and 26 St Peter Street in the 1869 Directory, prior to street renumbering to 87 St Peter street. *
