My 3x great grand parents are Robert and Sarah Shand and have discovered that Robert was a victualler at the Rose, 78 Edmund Street 1826-7 and the Woodman John Street 1839-42. The listing in Pigots 1839 Directory and Robsons 1842 Directory, are both incorrect and should read Robert Shand (not Strand). *
I can confirm this with the information listed in various documents namely Sarah�s death notice in the Morning Start, 31 January 1856 and on their daughter Sarah�s death certificate 1839. *
