My paternal grandfather was the proprietor of this pub around 1916. His name
was Frederick Charles Hatfield as described in the concert program in 1915.
Frederick was also at the
Prince of Wales
in 1912, and also the
Shakespeare Hotel,
Folkestone –
although I don’t have any idea of dates for the Prince of Wales, you do have
him in your records for the Shakespeare at 1922. *
