The Kelly's directory lists Mrs Annie Lockwood here in 1934, but she died on 23 June 1933 (directories are notoriously out of date!). As a side note, William & Annie's youngest son was John Sydney Lockwood (born 1920) so would more than likely have lived in the Latchmere Arms. He died in March this year (2013) aged 92, in Australia. He was known as Johnny Lockwood and after appearing at the Royal Variety Show in 1949 went to Australia where he became a TV star appearing in Neighbours and starring in No 96 a hugely popular & long running sitcom. He also appeared in the 2000 movie Moulin Rouge. *

I understand my grandparents were the Licensees of one or two pubs in Battersea. My Grandparent - Frederick Thomas Walker DOB 11/1/1898 (Son of Henry Walker) is shown as being a Publican in the East End).

Malvena Walker, circa 1943 to 1947 probably in the Latchmere Arms

I was told they ran the London Chatham & Dover Railway Tavern and/or The Latchmere Arms in Battersea. My Grandmother's ID Card shows her address as 104 Cabul Road, SW11 in 1943, she is Malvena wife of Frederick, and pictured above in the Pub that they ran. ***
