1935/Mrs Polly Campbell /../../../P.O. Directory **
I was sorting through some of my late parents' photographs and found a photograph labelled (by my mother) : ***
'Winnnie's sister outside own pub, Brighton'.
Winnie (Winifred) Alice Eve, nee Poppleton, formerly Bland Hunt was my father's stepmother.
This is her sister Rose Edna Poppleton, who was born on 8th June 1908 in Lincoln. Rose later married on 15th September 1935 to Cecil Ewin Campbell b. 21st September 1897.
Initially they lived and worked here in London, but must have moved to Brighton at some point possibly after WW2.
Cecil died in 1971 and Rose on 15th February 1977. I am assuming that they probably owned and ran the Star, in Brighton, in the 1950's and 60's. ***
In 1939 at 1 Tower Hill, Billingsgate, City Of london are
