1776/Dean Wolstenholm/Licensee/../../Alehouse Recognizances**

I have just seen a reference to a W. "Wolesholme" [sic], of the New Inn, Sun Street, in 1818.
You can see it on page 100 of William Winter's The history of the ancient parish of Waltham abbey, or Holy Cross (1888), which is at archive.org.
A bit of digging (in the parish register) shows that he was William Wolstenholm [sic], who was buried in 1832 age 62. He was christened here in 1770. ***

More digging online shows that his elder brother Dean Wolstenholme the Elder RA (born at Wakefield c.1753 - 1837) : was a famous painter of animals and hunting scenes

Dean's son Dean the Younger was also noted :for painting and engraving

I think these engravings are by :Dean the Younger

Looking at your list of landlords, it would seem that Dean the Elder is the one who held the New Inn in 1776. This would all mean that his son William held it in 1818. ***
