I am one of the grandsons of the Gus Pentney.
The Pentneys took over the Kings Arms on the 28/Oct/1928 (have the
invoice for the removal of household contents from New Southgate to
Waltham Abbey on that date, as well as the inventory of the pub's
contents on the transfer).
It also appears that the pub ownership was transferred from Whitbreads
to McMullens at the same time.
1949-1958/Frederick Stransom Robinson/../../../Personal History ***
My grandfather held the license until his death in 1949. My father,
Frederick Stransom Robinson, Gus' son-in-law' then held the license
until his death in 1958. My mother, Muriel Robinson then took on the
license until the pub was closed in 1959.
