Year/Publican or other Resident/Relationship to Head and or Occupation/Age/Where Born/Source.

The Cross Keys was initially run by Maria Cheek, who married my ancestor Joseph Clements on 6 March 1869/1 October 1869 Chelmsford Chronicle article *

Maria Clements (nee Cheek) died 2 June 1871 and Joseph married Emma Chapman on 27 July 1872. *

Joseph Clements then ran the pub until at least 1876 (17 March 1876 Chelmsford Chronicle article). The pub burned down in 1872 (22 November 1872 Chelmsford Chronicle article) and was rebuilt (11 September 1874 Chelmsford Chronicle article). *
