I have found that my 2nd great grandfather, Samuel Stockdale was a publican in the 1870s 80s and 90s, as beer retailer, and beer house keeper. The 1871 records show him at the British Volunteer (Victoria Dock Road), then at Greengate street (1881 census) and also at the Park Tavern (Tottenham), maybe in 1874. ***
