My father Alfred John Williams took over the licence at the Plume of Feathers, Bishops Stortford, in approximately 1958, and was the last landlord.
Just before it closed he and my mum Pat Williams took over The Anchor Inn, in south street, in which he was also the last landlord.
He then when to the King Harold, in Harold Wood, then the Railway Hotel, in Pitsea; and then on to the Crown Hotel, in Romford. *
