I Was delighted to find my gt grandfather's name for the above pub for 1894
- 1908, as I had no idea how long he had been the publican there. However,
his first name is Argur, not Argal or Arthur! With such an unusual name it
has sometimes been difficult to track him down: on his birth cert he is
Argar, on marriage cert it is Agur, on death cert and gravestone it is Argur,
and the census records vary between Angus and Arthur. It seems that even
Kellys has got it wrong! *
