Great Bromley in earlier mappings
From the information I have gleaned so far, the recent information for the Cross is that it was purchased a few years ago by a young couple who endeavoured to use the pub as an investment opportunity, i.e. to sell it off to developers to build on all of the land.
More recently, by 2016, the pub has now been purchased by the local community. Parts of the lands attached to the pub are now to be built upon, but the pub itself has been saved.
