In 1931, Percy Edmeades and Gladys Edmeades are at the Club House, in West Thurrock.]
My grandfather Percival Bertram Edmeades was the landlord for Charringtons around 1955-1960. His wife was Edna. My father (Joseph Cecil Edmeades) worked with my grandfather there after leaving the Coldstream Guards in 1954. We lived there for about a year. **
My grandad who was known as Joe went on to the Three Rabbits, Manor Park on leaving The Black Lion.
He worked for Charringtons in various public houses. The Ship, Tilbury (before the Black Horse) The Gunmakers Arms, Debden, The March Hare in Stevenage, The Crown in Leystonstone (not necessarily in that order). Mt grandfather retired from Charringtons in about 1960 and moved to Hornchurch. **
