It seems that the H. WHITE who was the landlord of the Marlborough Arms in
Dedham in 1855 was one of my Great Great Great Grandfathers. His name was
Henry White, and the Mary White who was the landlady in 1862 and 1867 was
his wife ( widow by then as Henry was buried in Dedham on 5th June 1861 ). *+

Henry White licensee of the Marlborough Head Inn Dedham was one of my great
grandfathers. Henry White took over the license from John Shuttleworth on 11
October 1851. The Essex Standard of 24 October 1851 records the transfer of
the license. *++

In the 1871 Census my Great Grandfather, William Francis Pickering, was the inn keeper of the Marlborough Head. He worked at various pubs mostly
in Middlesex. Harry Kettle was his brother in law, and I see he was there in 1874
