In tracing my family tree, I found that my great grandad Arthur Smith was Ostler and Manager of the Fleece Hotel Tap, Culver Street, Colchester; in the 1911 census. He was 30 and had been married to Lily Grace Smith (nee Howe, born in Brightlingsea and 2 years older than him) for 7 years. They had a son who was 12 (presumably by a different mum or dad) and son called Jack who was 6 in 1911 and my grandad Worthington who was 1 at that time.
If anyone else has any information that ties in with this, I would love to hear from them. ***
